Day Four re-cap looks like this:
Wake up in Des Moines, Iowa. We stumble upon the Capitol Building, stop for some photos, then begin a quest for BBQ. It's Sunday morning, the city feels like the set of Walking Dead. Total ghost town, but it's a modern city. Everything is closed, except one coffee shop wherein we learn that the place for BBQ in Des Moines is near Drake University. The place: Jethro's BBQ. We arrive, having spent entirely too much time looking for a place to eat, but it's worth it. Everyone is happy.
Next mission: Mitchell, South Dakota. The road is long. Not much to see, but we made good time. Enough to justify a pit stop at the Danish Windmill in Elk Horn, Iowa. Again, well worth it.
Ultimately, we reached Mitchell in good time, along with a good many bikers who were on their way to the 75th Anniversary of the Sturgis bike rally.
